I am stunned. I cannot believe this. When I briefly taught at university in New Zealand, I was informed by my dean that New Zealand is bicultural and that Maori was spoken and the culture and the people equally respected. There was no formal training for me as a new instructor, but I got the drift pretty quickly. I was deeply impressed that students from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds were accepted and also accepted me as a new immigrant. What the hell are we doing now? How can removing reference to our founding principles so unique as Te Tititi just be mandated out of existence by such a lopsided government?
