Such a sad indictment on the minister of education - she, like our education system should be fostering intelligent debate on issues that really matter for our kids. She’s a toxic disgrace. I guess she’s taking lessons from the US.
Totally agree with your toxic disgrace comment. It takes my breath away literally, like a gut punch, to hear any Minister of Education demonstrate so little integrity when dealing with teachers. The lies and political spin are disgraceful.
I am familiar with the process of response to all disagreement with policy being regarded as dangerous political rebellion. Unless and until you get an investigation into the political career of advisers and consultants to the Ministe that is what you'll get every time. I've been silenced and excluded and suffered personal attacks on my mental-patient son - who has become a 'hostage' to the people working for the ACT Party in the arts, I have been repeatedly silenced as a 'post-modernist' & attacked online personally & in private conversation I. a face for reading the writings of Michel Foucault and Gilles Deleuze & Fėlix Guattari & Jacques Derrida & Ludwig Wittgenstein -- & for my reference to their work in criticism of the ACT Party control of Arts policy that I cannot continue posting on this forum. For fear of further attacks on my family. Strange days: there is an overlap between Fine arts theory and Psychology/Psychiatry, although I am not and hav never been a teacher or writer about psychiatry --one of my students who continued his work in art criticism in Vienna has written a book based in a dissertation on Deleuze's theory about the arts of painting and cinema. The attacks o. my person go back to the time of my appointment as the first professorial head of a new department of art hiksotry, to the very obvious distress of a Kiwi - who organised all kinds of bullying beginning in 1971 - agains tywhihc I had not defence being a 'foreigner' -- & who is responsible for the new Art Curriculum -- which is destructive of everything my Department aimed at creating as a woking envirnment for modern - contemporary students. I'm hesitant to mentikon his name bbecause he has the power to seriously injure my family. T x
Excellent to see this response to the Minister. Ms Stanford has proven she is not a fair player and has no time for the real teachers, principals and support staff doing the mahi.
What’s bad about a teacher belonging to a union? Not listening to a representative body of education experts and experienced teachers is criminal! I am appalled. Thanks for bringing the minister’s rude remarks to our attention and Kia kaha. Keep fighting for our kids and their teachers.
Well said, we live in a democracy and will continue to participate as one. Kia kaha, koutou.
Absolutely Bex.

Well said, keep the pressure on for debate with the people at the coal face who actually know the effects on students both positive and negative.
